DIMOND SAINTS STAY (FEAT. YAARROHS)

From the heart of Oakland’s Dimond District comes the appropriately named Dimond Saints, a production duo who stitch together lustrous electronics beats and heavy bass in search of that adrenaline rushing drop. It’s a feat that they achieve on new track ‘Stay’, which manages to be earthy and restrained at the same time. The experience of listening to this impressive indie-dance tune is heightened by the presence of fellow Californian Yaarrohs, who provides a layer of shimmering, lightly soulful and passive vocals. This singer has quite an unique tone, one that the duo chop and stagger each time their barking bass takes hold. It’s a very cool track, one that’s fairly reminiscent of producers like Felix Snow (particularly his work with Terror Jr) and Flume (a connection supported by the Skin-esque cover art.) Dimond Saints consistently self-describe their work as “passionate” and “bold”, something which they’ve continued to deliver. - HT
